Kit Assembly | Warranty Information

Kit Assembly:
| Most Perfectflite products employ miniature surface mount components to keep overall size to a minimum. While specialized tools are not necessary for construction of the kit versions, a fine-tipped soldering iron, steady hands, and good eyesight are. Full instructions for home surface-mount assembly are included, with illustrations to accompany them. The feeling of accomplishment from assembly of one of our kits is similar to that of completing a nice-looking rocket kit, and we guarantee that youll feel proud when you fire up your kit and it works right the first time!
If you have any doubt as to your ability to assemble our kits, we have two recommendations. First, start with a simpler kit like the microTimer before attempting a more ambitious project like the altimeter. If you can assemble the timer, you will be able to assemble the altimeter.
If you find that assembly of the timer is more than you're up to, just send it back to us with a check for the price difference between the kit and the assembled version and we will assemble it for you. If any of the components are damaged or lost you may be assessed a small parts replacement fee.
Or if you just want to get one of these miniature marvels into your hands as quickly as possible, with the added bonus that it will be calibrated in our high-accuracy barometric chamber, then skip the kit and pay the modest differential for the assembled version!
| The kit versions of the microTimer and microAlt come with all necessary components and complete documentation on CD. The PDF format manual provides high resolution images for assistance during assembly and allows one to print a hardcopy for later reference. A tutorial on the assembly of surface mount components with standard soldering tools is also included. Your soldering iron must have a small, clean tip and your eyesight must be good to successfully complete the kits. The majority of the components measure about 2mm long by 1.2mm wide. These are not beginner projects! If you are in doubt as to your abilities, start with the timer kit before attempting the altimeter. |
